PURPOSE:To perform a wavelength conversion with a simple constitution by inputting an electric signal outputted from a photodetector to generate the light of a wide band and branching this light to plural lights different in wavelength and selecting one from these lights. CONSTITUTION:A photodetector 1 converts an optical signal to the electric signal and supplies this signal to a wide band light emitting element 2. When the electric signal outputted from the photodetector 1 is inputted to the element 2, the element 2 generates the light of a wide band and supplies it to an optical demultiplexer device 3. The device 3 branches the light of a wide band outputted from the element 2 to plural lights different in wavelength. An (n)X1 optical switch 4 selects one from plural light different in wavelength which are outputted from the device 3. Consequently, the light inputted to the photodetector 1 is converted to the light having an optional wavelength which can be generated in the device 3. Thus, wavelength conversion is performed with the simple constitution. |
