PURPOSE:The titled chewing gum capable of exhibiting such a high alleviating action on tension as to eliminate stress, etc., obtained by blending chewing gum with a tranquilizing substance comprising tryptophan as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:Chewing gum is blended with a tranquilizing substance (e.g., tryptophan-containing amino acid mixture, which may be mixed with calcium compound, vitamin., crude drug, etc.) as an active ingredient, to give tranquilizing gum. Tryptophan has no habituation, is harmless at all even if it is added to gum to be chewed extremely frequently, and it provides simultaneously nutrition supplying effect. The chewing gum has not only alleviating action on tension based on physical irritation, but also exhibits tranquilizing action of tryptophan, and provides higher alleviating effect on tension by their synergistic action. It is extremely useful for students preparing themselves for examinations, laborers at night, etc. |
