Degreasing plant, esp. for metal workpieces, uses a first conveyor zone (I), in which the pieces are treated with a cold degreasant, and a second (IIe for initial and/or final rinsing. (II) is divided by an inclined, intermediate base (b1) into an upper conveyor zone and a lower tank contg. rinsing water. At the lower end of base(b) is a sieve or filter leading to the tank, which contains a row of transverse baffles forcing the water to follow a labyrinthine path towards one end of the tank, which has a water exit(b2). (II) pref. contains both an initial and a final rinsing station, where only the latter is near exit(b2). Base (b2) pref. has its higher end above exit(b2) and functions as a drain for rinsing water dropping off the workpieces. Used e.g. for degreasing prior to painting, using a cold process. The long labyrinthine path in the rinsing water tank allows the sepn. of the water from the lighter degreasant, which floats on the water, and also the settling of dirt, so the water can be re-used.
|
