PURPOSE:To improve productivity of casting by insert-casting and disposing a manifold for liner cooling water pipings in a master die for die casting so that the temp. increase of the master die of the die is suppressed and that the die is made lightweight, compact and easy to handle. CONSTITUTION:A sand-packed steel pipe 10 for the mainfold is supported and disposed by means of core print parts 9 and chaplets 8 in the cavity 3 in a sand mold 12 for casting the die for die casting and the master die is cast. The holes of the parts 9 are welded and hermetically sealed after the removal of the dand and pipings 5, 6 for liner cooling are drilled and disposed. The manifold for supplying and discharging water is insert-cast without being attached to the outside of the die as in the conventional practice, by which the entire part of the die is made small in size, light in weight and easy to handle; moreover, the cooling of the master die is commonly executed, by which the life of the master die is extended and the productivity of casting is improved. |
