PURPOSE:To improve the using effect of an optical head by providing the titled device with a driving mechanism for simultaneous rotating optical discs set up on plural optical disc setting parts for holding the optical discs and a common optical head set up so as to move through the set up optical discs. CONSTITUTION:Plural, e.g. two, optical disc setting parts S setting up plural discs D to store or reproduce them are formed in a player part 1 and the respective optical disc setting parts S are constituted so that the optical discs D set up on the parts S are positioned on the same plan. Cartridges C storing respective optical discs D are loaded to the optical disc setting parts S in a recording and reproducing deive 10 and the discs D are recorded/reproduced by the optical head H through recording/reproducing windows W formed on the cartridges C without being unloaded from the cartridges C.
