DEPTH MEASUREMENT OF VOLATILE OIL TANK

PURPOSE:To determine the liquid level positively almost eliminating the wet height by immersing an inspection scale tape coated with a naphtha inspection scale agent colored by mixing a greasy material with oil-soluble dye into a volatile oil so that only the dye below the oil level is melted away to specify the point of the oil level. CONSTITUTION:A greasy material is a semi-solid or solid lubricant in which a densifier is dispersed evenly into a petrolic lubrication oil or a synthetic oil such as silicone oil. This is examplified by a petrolic grease and a silicon oil based grease (silicon grease or the like). The densifier includes soap-based and non- soap based ones. The former is a soap of calcium or the like and the latter are an inorganic compound such as bentonite, a urea compound and a fluorine compound. The oil-soluble dye refers to a dye soluble in a mineral oil, fats and fatty oils or the like but not water soluble. The amount of the oil soluble dye to be added is just enough to generate a color. The naphtha inspection scale agent is prepared by adding a fixed amount of the oil-soluble dye to the greasy material, which is heated and melted at about 80 deg.C and mixing them thoroughly. The coat of the naphtha inspection scale agent on the inspection scale tape is about 0.5g each.
