PURPOSE:To prevent fog due to excessive supply of silicone oil by covering the surface of a rubber roller rotated in abutting on an image carrier with a material capable of adsorbing silicone oil. CONSTITUTION:Residual toner remaining after a transfer is rubbed with a silicone rubber roller 61 and removed by a cleaning blade 63. The removed toner falls on the surface of the roller 61 and attached thereto, and with the rotation of the roller 61, it is scraped off by a scraper 62 provided in cleaning unit 6 to be transported by a transporting screw 64. In the cleaning unit 6, a coating roller 65, which has V-shaped or like recessed grooves as shown in a figure, is provided to coat the surface of the roller 61 with a powdery substance 67 capable of adsorbing silicone oil, e.g., strontium titanate. The silicone oil adsorptive substance 67 is supplied in small quantities to the surface of the roller 61. |
