摘要 PURPOSE:To execute satisfactorily continuous casting for a long period regardless of an increase in the viscosity of a lubricating agent as a result of alumina absorption in continuous casting of a molten metal by applying a high-frequency elastic material oscillation in a specified range to a casting mold and maintaining the kinematic viscosity of the lubricating agent in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating agent is intervened in a stable state between the casting mold and the molten metal and the satisfactory continuous casting is executed. The kinematic viscosity mu* of the lubricating agent is required to be maintained in a 0.5<=mu*<=4 range in this stage. The viscosity of the lubricating agent increases gradually on absorbing of alumina, etc. The kinematic viscosity mu* has the relation mu*=mu/(1+4pi<2>f<2>tau<2>) if the static viscosity is designated as mu, frequency as (f) and Maxwell stress relaxation time as tau. The viscosity mu* decreases when the frequency (f) is applied. If the casting mold is oscillted at a high frequency of 200Hz-20kHz, the lubricating agent attains the dynamic viscosity mu* in the adequate rate and the continuous casting is continued in the stable state for a long period.
