PURPOSE:To produce a fluorinated organic compound in high yield, under mild reaction condition, with little production of olefin, by reacting a halogenated organic compound with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of cuprous oxide and ether or an organic base. CONSTITUTION:A fluorinated organic compound of formula R-F (e.g. fluorobenzene) can be produced by reacting the halogenated organic compound of formula R-X (R is univalent organic group; X is Cl, Br or I) (e.g. chlorobenzene) with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of cuprous oxide and an ether or an organic base at about 0-30 deg.C. |
