PURPOSE:To reduce an amount of nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide produced and to improve combustion performance, by a method wherein a reflux passage is formed in the inner wall of an engine body, and the starting end of the reflux passage is communicated with an exhaust port, and the terminal end thereof to a suction port. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust passage E is communicated with a suction passage I through a reflux passage 20 to cause a part of exhaust gas to flow in the suction passage I. The reflux passage 20 is formed in the inner wall of an engine body 7. A starting end 20a of the reflux passage 20 is communicated with an exhaust port 11, and a terminal end 20b to a suction port 10. The terminal end 20b causes exhaust gas to flow in the middle part of the port passage of the suction port 10 in the same direction as that of intake air in the suction port 10. This causes exhaust reflux gas and intake air to be uniformly mixed, resulting in the possibility to reduce an amount nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide produced and improve combustion performance. |
