The invention relates to an apparatus for the low-noise setting-down of rod profiles in a collecting trough, in which the collecting trough has, in addition to a pivotably mounted set-down lever, a pivotably driven trough lever which, in the starting position, forms a constant filling gap with the upper end of the trough wall at the charging end and, after a predetermined partial filling of the collecting trough, with exposure of the total filling cross-section, pivots back like the set-down lever into the emptying position, the set-down lever progressively exposing the filling cross-section from the starting position into the emptying position. As a result, the building-up and collapsing of column-like stacks of pipes with substantial noise evolution are avoided. <IMAGE>
