<p>A framework 10 for a disc brake includes a reaction element 34 which is in sliding contact with the inner wall of the brake cylinder and a recovery spring 38 which acts between the reaction element and the piston 16 in order to cause the piston to move backwards over a predetermined distance after application of the brake.
