<p>Furnace for baking ceramic materials, esp. tiles, using several channels, one located above the other, each with insulated side walls, hearth and roof. Equispaced rollers carry the tiles through the furnace, and are located across each channel nearer the roof than the hearth. The distance from the hearth to the roller axes in each channel is pref. min. twice the pitch of the rollers. The base of one channel and the roof of the next lower channel pref. form a cavity fed with hot combustion gas by burners, the gas travelling through the perforated roof to the tiles. Burners are pref. also located in the side walls of the furnace to feed hot gases into each channel below the level of its roller track. The furnace has high thermal efficiency.</p> |
