PURPOSE:To obtain a correcting system for both burst error and random error by making single error correction in one of two or more correcting series interleave-formed in different direction, and at the same time, adding an error flag, and making eraser correction in another series referring to this. CONSTITUTION:Reproduced data RD read out from a light disk etc. are written in a C1 deinterleave memory 2, and then read out and processed by a C1 decoder 4, and error position detection and correction of one word are made by one of two correcting series formed by interleaving in different direction crossing with the frame and completing in a sector. Corrected data DC1, error flag FE outputted by the decoder 4 are supplied respectively to a C2 deinterleave memory 6 and an error flag memory 7. When counted value of an error flag counter 10 becomes 2, eraser correction for word of another correcting series is made through a decoder 9. Thus, error correcting system effective for both burst error and random error is obtained. |
