PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a powder molding for sintering by which the thickness of a molding is made uniform, the generation of defective products is reduced, the yield can remarkably be improved, and the number of production stages and production cost can be reduced without using an expensive die with which many days are required for the production, and to provide a method of producing a sputtering target using the molding. SOLUTION: In the method of producing a powder molding for sintering, raw material powder is filled into the space between two plates, the surrounding is sealed, and thereafter, molding is performed by hydrostatic pressure press.
