The method is used for sealing a pipeline which runs in bends and from whose internal space a medium which is present in said internal space emerges through a leakage point in a wall surrounding the internal space. In this case, in the region of both ends of a flexibly elastic tubular body, in each case one sealing element is connected to an outer surface which bounds the tubular body. The tubular body is then conveyed through the pipeline to the leakage point with the two sealing elements. There, in each case one of the two sealing elements is sealed to the wall of the pipeline while in each case one side of the leakage point in the longitudinal direction of the pipeline. An annular space into which a repair medium which seals the leakage point is inserted can be bounded by the sealing elements, the pipeline wall and an outer surface of the tubular body facing the pipeline wall. The tubular body can be designed to be permeable to the medium in the flow direction of the medium existing inside the pipeline, so that it can remain permanently in the region of the leakage point. The device according to the method is characterised in that a flexibly elastic tubular body which runs essentially in the longitudinal direction of the pipeline extends through the internal space of the pipeline. The tubular body is guided in a sealing manner in sealing elements. In each case at least one sealing element is fixed in a sealing manner in the pipeline, on both sides of a leakage point in the longitudinal direction of the pipeline. ...
