<p>The device is used for the automatic threading in of the outer yarn end of balls which are wound on a winding mandrel (12). For this purpose, the free end of the winding mandrel (12) projecting beyond the ball (16) is constructed as a hook head (25), the arrangement being such that the winding arm (14) inserts the yarn end into the mouth of the hook head (25) at the end of the winding operation. When the ball (16) is removed from the winding mandrel (12), the yarn end is drawn into the ball (16). The hook head (25) is freely rotatable about the central longitudinal axis of the winding mandrel (12). Its centre of gravity is such that, with an oblique end position of the winding mandrel (12), the hook head (25) moves by itself into that position of the angle of rotation in which the winding arm (14) inserts the yarn into the hook mouth. <IMAGE></p> |
