PURPOSE:To check a hunting phenomenon as well as to aim at stabilization in an engine speed, by performing closed loop control with an integrating signal based on the output of an exhaust sensor, while temporarily holding the integrating signal on the basis of reversal timing of the integrating signal. CONSTITUTION:A first air-fuel ratio adjusting device 9 and a second air-fuel ratio adjusting device 10 are controlled by a controlling device receiving each detection output of a first exhaust sensor 6 and a second exhaust sensor 7. The controlling device is provided with a closed loop controlling device 11, a reversal detecting device 12 and an integration holding device 13. A first integrating signal to the first air-fuel adjusting device 9 corresponds to the output of the first exhaust sensor 6 and is temporarily held so as to cause the variation phase to become an opposite phase to a second integrating signal, and afterward closed loop control of the opposite phase takes place. Thus, the check of a hunting phenomenon is well promoted and, what is more, stabilization in an engine speed and the emission properties are improvable.
