PURPOSE:To omit the strict test of overlapped outputs sharply by forming a described output hysteresis storage part, an address formation part for fixing the address and an output decision part for preliminary test. CONSTITUTION:An address formation part 12 applies a hashing function to an encoded character description to form an address in the described output hysteresis storage part 13. An output decision part 15 records the description output history of a word retrieved by a word retrieval part 5 in an address of a storage part 13 which is specified by the formation part 12, reads out the description output hysteresis of the word retrieved by the retrieval part 5 from the address of the stoage part 13 which is specified by the formation part 12, and only in the description having the output hysteresis, starts the same description retrieval part 6. The retrieval part 6 tests whether the description is an outputted overlapped word. If the same words are overlapped in plural storage areas in said constitution, processing for preventing the same description from being outputted twice or more can be executed efficiently.
