<p>PURPOSE:To convert a crosslinked polyorganosiloxane to a sol rubber preventing the progress of the crosslinking in the polymerization process, by adding and reacting a phosphorus trihalide to the siloxane. CONSTITUTION:(A) A crosslinked polyorganosiloxane is dissolved or dispersed in (B) a solvent capable of dissolving or swelling the component A (e.g. chloroform, methylene chloride, toluene, etc.), and (C) a phosphorus trihalide (e.g. phosphorus trichloride, phosphorus tribromide, phosphorus triiodide, etc.) is added and reacted to the siloxane to convert the siloxane to a sol rubber. The amount of the component C is preferably 0.001-0.5pt.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the component A, and the reaction is carried out preferably below the room temperature for 1- 2min.</p> |
