The invention relates to a damper device fastened onto the straps used by mountaineers during their advance for their safety in the event of a possible fall. It consists of an additional strap 12 connected by sewing at two points 15 and 16 of the central part 6 of the basic strap, whose ends are folded over in order to form two loops 7 and 8. The additional strap 12 is shorter than the basic strap 6 between the 2 connection points 15 and 16 in order to act as a damper in the event of violent traction on 6 caused by the fall of the climber.
