NEW MATERIAL:Azetidinone disulfide derivatives expressed by formula I (R1 represents thiazolyl or tetrazolyl optionally having alkyl group as a substituent group; R2 represents a protecting group of the carboxyl group). EXAMPLE:p-Nitrobenzyl 4-(4-methylthiazol-2-yl)dithio-2-oxoazetidine-1-(2-isopropenyl)acetate. USE:An intermediate for 2beta-halomethyl-2alpha-methylpenam-3alpha-carboxylic acid-1,1- dioxides. PREPARATION:A penicillanic acid sulfoxide derivative expressed by formula IIis reacted with a mercaptan derivative expressed by formula III usually in a molar amount of about 1-1.5 times that of the compound expressed by formula IIto obtain the compound expressed by formula I. |
