The invention essentially relates to a novel type of electrical heater 1 consisting of: - a central element 23, electrically heating and fitted with a resistor, delimited by a first external cylindrical envelope 26; - a heater body 5 coaxial with the central element 23, comprising a second internal cylindrical envelope 32; - a moving rotor 32 introduced into the annular space 34 between the first external envelope 26 and the second internal envelope 23, and fitted with helical scrapers in relief 40 which are tangent to the first external envelope 26; - lastly, rotation means 65 making the rotor 36 rotate in the annular space 34. This device allows high power compact electrical heaters to be produced. It furthermore avoids parasitic reactions during the heating of a fluid. <IMAGE>
