PURPOSE:To enable copying and reproduction of a chromatic color by incorporating a coloring matter and/or a dye exhibiting a color in complementary relation to said chromatic color in an electrostatic charge generating layer and/or a charge transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:The coloring matter and/or the dye to be added to the charge generating layer and/or the charge transfer layer, such as a styryl type coloring matter or a nitron type dye, are used in order to lower the sensitivity in a specified wavelength region. The charge generating layer is formed by dissolving such a coloring matter and/ or a dye in a solvent, such as acetone or methanol, coating a conductive layer, and drying it. The charge transfer layer is formed by coating the charge generating layer with a component as the charge generating layer, and drying it. As a result, the charge generating layer and/or the charge transfer layer contains the coloring matter and/or the dye in complementary color relation to the chromatic color, and allows it to absorb light in the wavelength region of the complementary color, resulting in lowering the sensitivity of the photosensitive body to the light of said region, and forming the latent image of this chromatic color part on the photosensitive body. Accordingly, the chromatic color part can be copied by developing the latent image with a developer, and reproduction of black and gray can also be made. |
