PURPOSE:To process color picture signals accurately and easily by providing a means which inputs plural picture signals corresponding to different colors in time series and a means which converts the plural input image signals into an in-phase parallel signal. CONSTITUTION:Outputs R' and G' among R', G', and B' from a preliminary sample holding circuit 2 are inputted to post sample holding circuits 3 and 4. A sample clock phi3 from a sample clock generator 7 is inputted as a timing signal to the sample holding circuits 3 and 4 and the respective input image signals R' and G' are sampled and held almost at the rise of the clock. Thus, the signals are separated by colors to generate in-phase picture signals R', G', and B' of picture signals of the three primary colors. Therefore, matrix arithmetic is only performed by a post-stage matrix circuit 5 at an output period of almost one picture element, namely, T1 and the need for a fast arithmetic circuit is eliminated.
