PURPOSE:To prevent oxidation discoloration of a hydrazone nickel chelate dye due to air oxidation and to enhance fastness against light, gas, and moisture by using a specified hydrazone coupler, and a specified binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The diazo copying material used in this invention contains a diazonium salt, and as a hydrazone type coupler, one of pyridine derivs. represented by formulae I and II, and a metal salt capable of chelating with a coupling product. In formulae I and II, R<1> is lower alkyl; R<2> is lower alkylene; R<3> is a group of formula III or IV; R<4> 1-5C alkyl, phenyl, or a group of formula V; R<5> is 1-4C alkylene; R<6> is a group of formula VI or VII; and R<7> is H or methyl. As a binder resin, those composed essentially of PVA modified with methylol- urethane groups, and the metal salt, including a complex salt, capable of chelating with the coupling product of a formazane dye is generally a salt of a transition metal, such as nickel salts. As the metal salts, various salts of inorg. or org. acids, such as sulfate, and as a complex, such as aquo complex, are enumerated. An amt. of metal salt to be used is sufficient, so long as it is not below the stoichiometric amt., and, in general, 0.5-10mol per mol of formazane dye. |
