Arranged on both sides of the furnace centre (7) are grates (2, 3) and deflection walls (16, 17). The deflection walls form at the same time walls of a cyclone (18), to which the combustion gases (44, 45) are supplied via a cyclone supply connecting piece (22). Solids particles centrifuged in the cyclone (18) are drawn off via a down pipe (27). Waste gas cleaned in the cyclone (18) passes via a waste gas pipe (25) into a chimney (26). By means of the double bed arrangement, a high combustion efficiency is achieved. By using the deflection walls (16, 17) at the same time as walls of the cyclone, extensive dedusting of the waste gas is achieved with low constructional expenditure. A number of combustion furnaces (1) can be combined into a large furnace. <IMAGE>
