PURPOSE:To provide a ceramic glow plug which is quickly increased in temperature, has a heat-generating wire being prevented from breaking even through continuous application of a whole source voltage, and is durable to the use for a long time, by a method wherein a heat- generating part and a power control part are formed by a material which has the relatively high coefficient of positive resistance temperature, and the power control part is disposed in a place where heat is excellently radiated. CONSTITUTION:Since a coil 2a and a coil 5 are formed by a material having the relatively high coefficient of a positive resistance temperature, its resistance value is increased with the increase in temperature. However, since the coil 5 is disposed within a metallic outer cylinder 7, heat is excellently radiated. Further, since the resistance value of the coil 5 is decreased over that of the coil 2a, the increase in temperature of the coil 5 is decreased over that of the coil 2a. Thus, during the initial stage of energization, the resistance value of the coil 2a is increased over that of the coil 5 and the former coil is fast in the increasing velocity of the resistance value, and thereby a power share ratio is increase with the passage of a time, and the temperature of the coil 2a is rapidly increased. With the further passage of a time, the coil 5 is also increased in temperature to increase the resistance value, the power share ratio of the coil 2a is decreased to prevent the coil from an increase in temperature, and the temperature of the coil is shortly adjusted to a saturation value. |
