PURPOSE:A composition useful as toothpaste, filler kiss paste, etc. having proper polishing properties by itself, showing improved luster imparting effect on the teeth, having proper polishing power, cleaning power, obtained by blending an oral cavity composition with anhydrous alpha-alumina having a specific crystal size. CONSTITUTION:An oral cavity composition is blended with alpha-alumina anhydride having 0.1-2.5mum average crystal size. alpha-Alumina comprising particles having 0.1-4.5mum secondary aggregation particle diameters, containing no particles having >=5mum secondary aggregation particle diameter, is preferably used as the alpha-alumina anhydride. The composition for oral cavity obtained reduces surely scratch, has no feeling of roughness to the tongue, and has good feeling in use. An amount of alpha-alumina anhydride blended is 0.1-60wt% based on total amount of the composition, and especially 0.1-10wt% when it is mixed with another polishing material. EFFECT:Even if the alpha-alumina anhydride is mixed with a polishing agent having high polishing power such as Al(OH)3, calcium hydrogenphosphate containing no hydrate, polishing silica, etc., it can make the teeth smooth without damaging them. |
