METHOD FOR PREVENTING MOLDING SAND BURNING OF CASTING PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To prevent efficiently molding sand burning without polluting environment by coating a water soluble mold coating material adjusted to an adequate concn. on the surface of a shell casting mold at a high temp. right after molding then performing immediately casting with the shell mold obtd. in such a way. CONSTITUTION:The shell mold is molded by a shell molding method and the water soluble mold coating material consisting essentially of graphite, etc. adjusted in the concn. corresponding to the temp. on the surface of the shell mold in the high-temp. state right after molding is coated on said surface. The shell mold right after the molding is usually heated to about 80-130 deg.C and the concn. of the mold coating material is adjusted preferably to be made lower as the temp. of the above-mentioned shell mold is higher within a 40-46 Baume degree range. The moisture in said mold coating material is thoroughly evaporated on the shell mold having the high temp. The burining of the molding sand is obviated even if such shell mold is straightly used for casting without subjecting the mold to a drying stage.
