PURPOSE:To obtain an optional silencing characteristic and enable a silencer to be formed in a small size, by forming a spiral flow path in the periphery of a straight advancing flow path of the silencer and causing the spiral flow path to generate a delay time corresponding to a half wavelength. CONSTITUTION:A sound wave interference type silencer forms a straight advancing flow path 20 by a pipe-shaped internal wall 22 of predetermined length. The silencer forms a spiral flow path 28 by providing a pipe-shaped external wall 26 in the periphery of the internal wall 22 through helical partition 24. The partition 24 is mounted in a pitch so that a path length, that is, flow path length of fluid turning to flow in the spiral path 28 may become a value 1.5 times at large as the flow path length of the straight advancing flow path 20.
