PURPOSE:To improve metering accuracy of fuel to be sucked, by once storing fuel discharged from a cut-off port after ending of fuel injection, and supplying the stored fuel together with suction fuel upon sucking of fuel to a fuel injection pump. CONSTITUTION:A second cylinder 30 is connected to a cut-off port 19 for discharging excess fuel when the port coincides with a slit 18 formed at a plunger 9 of a distributor type fuel injection pump 2. A piston 32 in a cylinder tube 31 is biased by a coil spring 33 to a port 30a side of the cylinder tube 31. Fuel discharged from the cut-off port 19 is once stored in the second cylinder 30, and when a return port 35 is brought into communication with a high-pressure chamber 12 upon sucking of fuel, the stored fuel is sucked from the second cylinder 30 in addition to fuel to be sucked from a first cylinder 21. Thus, metering accuracy of fuel to be sucked may be improved.
