PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having a ground with a white color tone, excellent preservability before thermal recording and a high developed color density upon thermal recording and capable of being fixed after thermal recording, by a method wherein a diazo compound and a polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated bond are microencapsulated. CONSTITUTION:A diazo compound and a polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated bond are incorporated in microcapsules, in a thermal recording material in which a recording layer comprising a diazo compound, a coupling component and a basic substance is provided on a base. Accordingly, a thermal recording material having a white ground color tone, excellent preservation in raw state and a high thermal color forming property can be obtained. The polymerizable compound may be an unsaturated carboxylic acid, a salt thereof or the like. |
