PURPOSE:To provide an excellent antiepileptic agent based on the central acting mechanism, and containing diaminodiphenylsulfone which is known as an antibacterial agent, a remedy for Hansen's disease, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective antiepileptic agent can be prepared by using the diaminodiphenylsulfone of formula as an active component. It has been found that, in the compound of formula, p,p'-diaminodiphenylsulfone has excellent antiepileptic activity based on the central acting mechanism which is absolutely different from the mechanism of the known antibacterial effect. The compound of formula can be used in the form of tablet, powder, injection, etc. by ordinary prescription. It is administered by oral administration, injection, etc. Dose: preferably 10-300mg/60kg daily.
