PURPOSE:To recognize a peripheral scene, too, of an image obtained by a zoom lens, and to select a suitable shot by combining and displaying both an image taken in by the zoom lens, and an image taken in from a light intake window, which is not zoomed, and displaying a frame for showing a field of view of the zoom lens as for the image which is not zoomed. CONSTITUTION:When a switching device 91 is switched to a zoom lens 2 side, an optical image from the zoom lens 2 is projected to a finder 5 through the switching device 91, and a zoomed image is displayed on the finder 5. On the other hand, when the switching device 91 is switched to a light intake window 3 side, an optical image from the light intake window and an optical image from a contrast device 7 are projected to the finder 5, and an optical image containing the periphery, too, of a field of view of the zoom lens 2 is displayed together with a frame 20 for showing the field of view of the zoom lens 2. In such a way, a user of this camera can observe together a video obtained by the zoom lens 2, and its peripheral video or scene by seeing the finder 5.
