PURPOSE:The titled cosmetic, obtained by incorporating an extract of a stem, leaf or root of Angelica Keiskei Koidz. with hot water or ethanol in a cosmetic base, and having improved whitening and antisuntan effect and high safety. CONSTITUTION:A safe whitening cosmetic obtained by incorporating an extract of a stem, leaf or root of Angelica Keiskei Koidz. with hot water or ethanol in a cosmetic base. The component extracted from an umbelliferous plant, particularly the stem or root of Angelica Keiskei Koidaz. is found to have improved inhibitory action on melanization. The angelica Keiskei Koidz. is the umbelliferous plant growing naturally on the Pacific coast, and the leaf or stem, etc. thereof is extracted as follows; In the case of extraction with hot water, the dried Angelica Keiskei Koidz. ins finely cut. dipped in purified water, boiled, allowed to stand at ordinary temperature and filtered to collect a leachate. The amount of the extract from the Angelica Keiskei Koidz. to be incorporated in the cosmetic is preferably 0.01-1%. In the case of toilet water, a humectant, etc. are dissolved in purified water, etc. and a perfume, etc. are dissolved in an alcohol. The above-mentioned extract is added to either one thereof and mixed to prepare the titled cosmetic. |
