PURPOSE:To enable high density recording and to make the falsification of written information difficult while enabling the reduction in cost by mass production, by providing a first recording layer comprising a photosensitive material layer and a second recording layer comprising a thin reflective metal layer. CONSTITUTION:The titled recording material has a substrate 2, a first recording layer 5, which consists of a light pervious part 3 and a light blocking layer 4, provided on said substrate 2 and a second recording layer 6 comprising a thin reflective metal layer provided on said first recording layer 5. Then, energy beam is applied to the second recording layer 6 by spot irradiation. By this operation, the writing of information to the second recording layer 6 can be performed and the reading of the written informtion is performed by allowing recording regeneration light to be incident from the side not provided with the first recording layer 5 and the second recording layer 6. That is, by reading the difference of reflectivities in the light blocking layer and the light pervious layer of the first recording layer 5 and that in the pit part and the non-recorded part of the second recording layer 6, the information written in the optical recording material can be read. |
