Force measurer ascertaining power transferred to rotating machine tool

A sensor is fixed rigidly to the casing of the drive machine and cooperates with an object fixed rigidly to the tool. A second object is fixed rigidly to the drive shaft. The sensor or sensors cooperating with the objects produce signals describing the distance between the two objects. The sensors are electromagnetic toroidal coils and the objects are electrically-conductive rings inside the coils. The coils are part of a bridge circuit producing a signal proportional to the distance between the objects. The sensors are linearised electronically.
