PURPOSE:To enable various and fine operations to be made efficiently with an object to be observed with a simple operation by disposing a micromanipulator so as to move vertically cooperatively with the vertical movement of an objective lens for focusing in the optical axis direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:A revolver holding base 18 supporting pivotally a revolver 14 is vertically moved for the purpose of focusing by the cooperative movement of a rack 18a and a pinion 19 turned when a vertical moving handle which is provided to the microscope body and is not shown is operated. A micromanipulator 16 is attached via a fixture 20 to the base 18. The glass needle 16a thereof is attached via a Tee arm 16b to the body of the micromanipulator 16 and the top end thereof is positioned within the focus depth of the focus position matched with the cell 11a in a culture vessel 11.
