<p>Method according to which an engine chassis is mounted on the base in a predetermined position by means of vertical movement of transverse beams of the seating plate of the engine chassis, carried out by means of supports arranged under said beams, and afterwards the engine chassis is coupled to the base with spacer members. During installation of the engine chassis, the supports are located under the end transverse beams and under the central transverse beam of the seating plate of the engine and at least one of said beams is moved vertically in order to curve the engine chassis until a positive vertical deflection amounting to 150 to 300% of the deflection tolerance of the assembly specified for the given type of engine is adjusted on at least one bend (elbow) of the crankshaft.
