NEGATIVE ELECTRODE ACTIVE MATERIAL OF LEAD STORAGE BATTERY AND LEAD STORAGE BATTERY USING THIS MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a negative electrode active material for improving efficiency of utilizing electric energy by adding at least one component such element as copper or chrome into lead powder. CONSTITUTION:Copper and/or chrome are added into lead powder which is used as a negative electrode active material. Addition amounts of copper or copper compound and of chrome or chrome compound are favorable in the range of 0.0005-0.005wt% as pure materials. When values in this range are taken, the efficiency of utilizing electric energy can be improved. When both elements of copper and chrome are added, larger effects can be obtained compared to that of independent addition of each element.
