PURPOSE:To set up artificial faults of all hardware faults detected by a firmware by using a artificial fault setting instruction specifying an address and changing data of a control storage. CONSTITUTION:The address and changing data of the control storage CS in a data processor are loaded at first, regular data are shunted to an inherent area of a scratch pad memory SPM14 and an FF15 is set up to ''1''. In an artificial fault test, the CS address and the CS changing data corresponding to the kind of a artificial fault are determined in consideration of the constitution, logic, etc. of the firmware and an expected value for the result of fault processing due to the artificial fault is also determined. Then, a false fault setting instruction is executed and a test program is executed. Subsequently, whether the executed result of the test program coincides with the expected value or not is checked and whether the artificial fault test succeeds or not is determined and displayed. |
