PURPOSE:To obtain a thermodevelopable photosensitive material nondesensitizable by storage by forming on a support a photosensitive layer contg. a basic agent or its precursor, a binder, and a photosensitive silver halide emulsion prepared by forming silver halide grains in the presence of a sensitizing dye. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide emulsion is prepared from a soluble silver salt and a halide by adding a sensitizing dye to the soln. of these materials in advance or at the same time as mixing the materials or doing the like to allow this dye to be adsorbed, and thus to obtain a silver halide emulsion nondesensitizable by storage. This emulsion and a soln. of an alkali precursor, such as an ethanol soln. of guanidine-trichloroacetate and necessary additives, such as a reducing agent and a dye donor, are mixed, and a thermodevelopable material layer contg. these mixture is formed on a support. Alternatively, a protective layer contg. the reducing agent, an image stabilizer, etc., may be formed on the thermodevelopable layer. A superior image can be formed only by heating this photosensitive material exposed imagewise.
