NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [Ar is phenyl, 1-naphthyl, 3-indolyl; Ar<2> is phenyl, 1-naphthyl; m, n are 0-3 where m+n is 1-4; Y is NHCO, CONH, CO, O, (CH=CH)p (p is 1, 2); r<1>, R<2> are H or bind with each other to form a chemical bond; His is L-histidyl; * designates L-conformation]. EXAMPLE:The dipeptide derivative of formula II. USE:A remedy for hypertension: it has an action to inhibit human resin and can be orally administered. PREPARATION:For example, a reactive derivative of a carboxylic acid of formula III and an equimolar amount of a compound of formula IV (Z is carbonyl- protecting group) are allowed to react with each other, in the presence of equimolar to excessively molar amount of 1,1'-carbodinylimidazole at 0-50 deg.C for 1-20hr. The reaction mixture is treated according to a usual manner, further the product is treated with an aldehyde in the presence of an inorganic or organic acid to remove the carbonyl-protecting groups.
