PURPOSE:To provide a resin molding of improved malleability and ductility in good efficiency, by impregnating the surface layer of a polymethyl methacrylate resin molding with a lower alcohol and heat-treating the molding. CONSTITUTION:The surface layer of a resin molding based on polymethyl methacrylate is impregnated with a lower alcohol (e.g., methyl alcohol), preferably, at a temperature in the range of ordinary temperature - atmospheric b.p. of the alcohol for several min - several hr. The impregnated molding is heat-treated, preferably, at a temperature of 50-80 deg.C for several min - several hr. A molding of improved malleability and ductility can thus be obtained. By suitably controlling the b.p. of the lower alcohol, soaking time, heat treatment temperature, and heat treatment time, a resin molding having an elongation and a strength suited for the purpose of use can be easily obtained. |
