A glass compsn. to inhibit corrosion of a ferrous metal surface comprises 30-60 mole % CaO and 40-70 mole % P2O5. The compsn. is pref. formed as a glass frit, which is then dispersed in a paint- binder medium, pref. an oleoresinous medium, a chlorinated rubber, an epoxy, urethane, acrylic, alkyd, amino, vinyl or phenolic resin or a cellulosic polymer. The compsn. provides effective corrosion protection for ferrous structural members.
