<PICT:0862187/IV (a)/1> An imitation-horn button of synthetic material patterned throughout has the borders of areas of material of different appearance extending through the thickness of the button at an angle of inclination to the opposite faces. The angle for the various borders may be the same or different. A rod of circular cross-section formed with a continuous pattern from materials of different appearance is cut along planes oblique to the axis of the rod to produce discs 12 which are cut to produce two or more blanks which are pressed to form buttons. Alternatively, a disc may be cut along a diameter of the rod and the disc subjected to a displacement parallel to the faces to obtain borders passing at an angle through the disc or blank. The rod may be rotated and the plane varied to vary the pattern. |
