PURPOSE:To provide a bit image type printer with an image expanding function by providing a RAM adapted to memorize a bit image data pertaining to a lateral printing repeatedly at a frequency as set and a control circuit for converting the output of the RAM into a data necessary for printing to achieve a lateral printing in the longitudinal way as well repeatedly at a frequency as set. CONSTITUTION:A bit image data A from a host CPU is latched into a data latch unit 1 by a latch pulse B. When a -L selection signal is given, an AND gate 4 for outputs at positions 0, 1 and 2 is opened by a signal inverted with an inverter 6 and data are written into a pattern RAM2 according to a writing pulse C. Then, the selection signal moves to H and data at 3, 4 and 5 are written thereinto. Thus, the data are expanded twice. The data thus expanded is converted into a hammer data D with a hammer data control circuit 3 to perform a printing. As one line of printing is performed, a paper is sent by one pitch and then, the same printing is performed again to expand it in double size completely. |
