PURPOSE:To replace the contaminated guide surface by rotation and keep constant a gap between a guide member and a platen glass by regulating the position of the guide surface to the glass in such a manner that the guide surface of a rotatable polygonal guide member is opposite to the platen glass. CONSTITUTION:When the guide surface of a guide member 34 that is opposite to a platen glass is contaminated, an arm is turned clockwise and a supported portion 36 of the guide member 34 is positioned at a circular hole 32 to turn the guide member 34 in 45 deg. arc in either direction. After that, the supported portion 36 is advanced into a square hole 33, and the arm is turned counter-clockwise to be engaged with an engaging member, so that the uncontaminated guide surface of the guide member 34 is opposite to a platen glass 3. If all of the eight guide surfaces are contaminated, the guide member 34 can be replaced while the arm is not detached. The position of the guide surface opposite to the platen glass depends upon the thickness of a position regulating member 38. If the thickness is set about 1.0mm., the gap between both members is always kept about 1.0mm..
