It can be attached to a metal element, for example if it is used as a rubber shock absorber or a rubber shock absorber casing or as a bush. The rubber compound comprises one hundred parts by weight of halogenated butyl rubber and from five to twenty parts by weight of dithiocarbamate blended with the halogenated butyl rubber. Halogenated butyl rubber is selected from the group consisting of chlorinated butyl rubber and brominated butyl rubber, and the dithiocarbamate is selected from the group consisting of nickel dibutyldithiocarbamate and nickel diethyldithiocarbamate.
